TRICHY: The Sri Lankan navy on Sunday arrested two Indian fishermen for allegedly smuggling 6.5kg of cannabis to the Island nation.
The two fishermen -- C Jegadish, 30, and S Kalaimani, 30 of Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu -- set sail on a fibre boat on Saturday night. The Sri Lankan navy caught them north off Point Pedro and seized cannabis from them.

Later, the fishermen and cannabis were handed over to the Sri Lankan police, according to Tamil Nadu fisheries department officials.
